Submissions

Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit original scholarly manuscripts to Fortunate Business Review (FBR). Submitted manuscripts must be relevant to the journal’s Focus and Scope and should demonstrate originality, academic relevance, methodological rigor, and a meaningful contribution to the literature. FBR welcomes empirical, theoretical, conceptual, qualitative, quantitative, mixed-method, and other recognized scholarly approaches within the areas of Business and Management and Accounting, Finance, and Banking.

Manuscript Originality

Manuscripts submitted to FBR must be original, must not have been previously published, and must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere. All listed authors must have made appropriate contributions to the research, reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript, and agreed to its submission to FBR.

Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all data, citations, references, tables, figures, and other information presented in the manuscript. Any financial support, conflicts of interest, ethical approval, or other relevant declarations must be disclosed where applicable.

Manuscript Language

Manuscripts submitted to FBR may be written in English or Bahasa Indonesia. Authors are responsible for ensuring that the manuscript is written clearly, consistently, and in accordance with appropriate academic language standards.

Manuscripts written in Bahasa Indonesia must use formal and standard academic Indonesian, while manuscripts written in English should demonstrate appropriate academic English, including correct grammar, terminology, and sentence structure.

Regardless of the language used in the main manuscript, the title, abstract, and keywords must be provided in both English and Bahasa Indonesia.

Manuscript Preparation

Authors must prepare their manuscripts using the official FBR manuscript template and follow the formatting and bibliographic requirements specified by the journal. Manuscripts should be written clearly, systematically, and in an academically appropriate style.

In general, manuscripts should include the following components:

• Title
• Abstract
• Keywords
• Introduction
• Literature Review and/or Hypothesis Development, where applicable
• Research Method
• Results and Discussion
• Conclusion
• Acknowledgments, where applicable
• Funding Statement, where applicable
• Conflict of Interest Statement
• References

The manuscript structure may be adjusted according to the research design and nature of the study. Conceptual, qualitative, review, and other types of scholarly manuscripts may adopt an appropriate structure provided that the presentation remains systematic, clear, and academically rigorous.

Title, Abstract, and Keywords

The title should be concise, informative, and accurately reflect the content of the manuscript.

The abstract should provide a clear and concise summary of the research purpose, method, principal findings, and main implications. Abstracts should be written as coherent paragraphs and should not contain unnecessary citations.

Authors should provide relevant keywords that accurately represent the primary concepts, variables, methods, or topics addressed in the manuscript.

Tables and Figures

Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively and referred to appropriately in the manuscript. Each table and figure should include a clear title or caption and sufficient information to allow readers to understand its content.

Tables and figures should be placed within the manuscript near the relevant discussion rather than collected separately at the end of the manuscript.

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce or adapt copyrighted tables, figures, images, or other materials from external sources where required.

Citations and References

All sources cited in the manuscript must be included in the reference list, and all references listed must be cited in the manuscript.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that bibliographic information is accurate and complete. DOI or URL information should be provided where available.

Citation and reference formatting must follow the style specified in the official FBR manuscript template. Authors are encouraged to prioritize relevant, credible, and up-to-date scholarly sources and, where appropriate, original research articles.

Double-Blind Peer Review

FBR applies a double-blind peer-review process involving at least two expert reviewers.

Manuscripts submitted for review must therefore be prepared in a manner that protects the identities of both authors and reviewers. Author names, institutional affiliations, acknowledgments, and other identifying information should be removed from the anonymized manuscript where required and provided separately through the journal submission system.

Similarity Screening

All submitted manuscripts are subject to similarity screening before entering the peer-review process.

The overall similarity score must not exceed 20%. The reference list and correctly formatted direct quotations may be excluded from the similarity calculation. Individual source matches must remain visible and may not be excluded solely on the basis of word count or percentage thresholds.

Manuscripts exceeding the permitted similarity threshold may be returned to the authors for revision or may be declined by the editorial board in accordance with the FBR Similarity Screening Policy.

Research and Publication Ethics

Authors must comply with the publication ethics policies of FBR and the principles and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, duplicate publication, simultaneous submission, inappropriate authorship, manipulation of data or citations, and other forms of research or publication misconduct are not permitted.

Authors must disclose any financial, personal, professional, institutional, or other conflicts of interest that may influence, or appear to influence, the research or publication process.

Ethical approval, informed consent, and other research-related approvals must be obtained and reported where applicable.

Authorship

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, analysis, or interpretation of the study.

All listed authors must review and approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission to FBR.

Individuals who contributed to the research but do not meet the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged appropriately. Individuals who did not make a significant contribution must not be listed as authors.

Revision of Manuscripts

Authors may be requested to revise their manuscripts based on comments and recommendations from reviewers and editors.

Revised manuscripts should be accompanied by a clear response explaining how each reviewer and editor comment has been addressed. Where a recommendation is not adopted, authors should provide an appropriate academic justification.

Authors should ensure that all revisions are incorporated consistently into the revised manuscript before resubmission.

Submission

Manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the FBR online submission system.

Authors are responsible for completing all required submission metadata and uploading the manuscript and any supplementary files requested during the submission process.

Before submitting a manuscript, authors should ensure that all requirements listed in the Submission Preparation Checklist have been fulfilled and that the manuscript complies with the journal’s Focus and Scope, publication ethics, similarity screening, formatting, and other applicable policies.
